Our journey began on the campus of the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) where this young and handsome guy was living in the same hostel as my elder brother. I often visited my brother in school, sometimes just to spend time with him, and other times to deliver foodstuff from home.
Little did I know that God was quietly writing a beautiful story for me. I was simply being a caring and loving younger sister, visiting my brother and staying a few days with him on campus unaware that God was at work.
One particular evening, he approached me, and we began to talk more often. Interestingly, our conversation centered around salvation, purpose, church-life, and other subject matters. He asked if I was born again and when I gave my life to Christ. In that moment, I knew he was a child of God and that alone deeply attracted me to him. Of course, it helped that he was cute, calm, reserved, gentle, and dashing 😊. Before I knew it, I was so shy I could barely lift my head to look at his face.
Not long after, he invited me to his fellowship for an evening program. By then, we were already friends, and he was serving diligently in the Technical Unit. When I arrived and saw him in the engine room, joyfully and tirelessly serving his Heavenly Father, something settled quietly within me.
After seasons of friendship and growth, he made his intentions known and before taking any step further, I committed it to God in prayer and upon receiving His confirmation, we began our courtship.
We celebrated each triumph and navigated challenges with grace, always learning and growing together. His gentle corrections and heartfelt encouragements helped shape me into a better person. Through every high and low, our bond only grew stronger, and I am deeply grateful for the beautiful journey we share.
As we count down to December 20, 2025, I am reminded of how blessed I truly am. He came into my life when I least expected it and made my world a better place. He is my partner in purpose, my dream come true, and my God-given gift. He has contributed immensely to the woman I have become today.
All thanks be to God, who makes all things beautiful in His time. The Lord has helped us, and He will surely help us even more.
To this new phase of life, I declared "we come in the name of the Lord"
And to my husband-to-be, I say "cheers to chasing ten thousand together"
